Importance of individual/private lessons

Private lessons are essential for intermediate and advanced fencers to improve their skills, giving the coach the opportunity to focus on the student’s specific strengths and weaknesses. For competitive fencers, the private lesson is an essential component of their training regimen. Privates are also great for beginners who can’t make the regularly scheduled group classes or simply want to excel more rapidly and to develop basic techniques with more control and refinement.

Q: What is the best way to start fencing?
A: You can take private lessons.

Q: Should my child stop taking private lessons if he/she reached a certain level?
A: No, because private lessons are part of our education. Even Olympic champions still take private lessons. Group lessons and bouting can’t replace a private lesson.

Individual lessons can be scheduled inside or outside of open training times, depending on coach availability. Please see your coach or contact the club office to arrange a lesson.
